INTEGRAÇÃO DE GEOPROCESSAMENTO E ENGENHARIA CIVIL NA GESTÃO DE ENCHENTES: ESTUDO NO ENTORNO DO PARQUE DAS ÁGUAS, SOROCABA-SP

Abstract

This work aimed to analyze the vegetation present in the green areas of
condominiums in Sorocaba-SP during 2023. Initially, an evaluation of the housing units
in the areas of interest was conducted, focusing on high-standard condominiums. Satellite images from Google Earth were used to observe and roughly estimate the green areas of
our study objects, verifying their compliance with legislation. Compensations for
condominiums with green areas below the requirements of the municipal master plan were
not considered, where the analysis was conducted exclusively based on the visual
observation of images obtained through satellites and measurements made directly in the
Google Earth program, presenting the geographical data found in a didactic manner. The
objective of the study aimed to establish a correlation between the subject of
geoprocessing and civil engineering, highlighting how the tools and methods of
geoprocessing can be effectively applied in this context. This application can expand the
opportunities for analysis, inspection, and decision-making in these areas, offering
significant benefits for both fields.
