Abstract

The objective of the present study was to elaborate a methodology proposal to
contribute in scoping using Design Thinking for application in architectural projects. For
this, a descriptive and exploratory cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach was
conducted with 16 participants, with minimum complete high school education, residents
in the interior of the State of São Paulo, over 18 years old, clients of residential projects
between the years 2018 and 2019 from an architectural firm. The instruments used were
the “Free and Informed Consent Form” and the “Design Thinking Methodology
Evaluation Questionnaire”, developed according to interest and based on the literature on
the subject, being divided into data for defining the profile of respondents and Top 10
Contributing Factors: “Understanding Client Needs”, “Adjusting Client-Architect
Perception”, “Increasing Project Delivery Speed”, “Generating Greater Interaction with
Architect”, “Generating Greater Affinity between the client and the architect ”,“ meeting
project expectations ”,“ meeting the client more emphatically ”,“ enabling the
development of new ideas ”,“enabling the change of perspective / thinking” and
“contributing to customer loyalty”, with answers defined according to the 5-point Likert
Scale. The results were analyzed by descriptive data exploration through data
consolidation using the Office 365 Excel tool and data measurement using the 5-point
Likert Scale to determine the degree of agreement. or disagreement of the participants
through the weighted average and average ranking, where it was found that the average
of all answers about the contribution of the methodology are located between 80% and
100%.
