PEIEX - PROGRAMA DE QUALIFICAÇÃO PARA EXPORTAÇÃO: UM CAMINHO PARA PEQUENAS E MÉDIAS EMPRESAS SUPERAREM DESAFIOS DA EXPORTAÇÃO

Abstract

: This article discusses the importance of exportation for Brazilian Small and
Medium Enterprises (SMEs), focusing on the potential benefits and challenges that these
companies may face when engaging in international trade. We address the importance of
SMEs in the Brazilian economy, the main barriers to exportation faced by these
companies, and how the Brazilian government and other institutions are supporting SMEs
in their export activities. We also discuss the Export Qualification Program (PEIEX) from
Apex-Brasil, which offers training and technical assistance for Brazilian SMEs seeking
to qualify for exportation. We conclude with a discussion on the reasons why Brazilian
SMEs may hesitate to start the exportation process and how these barriers can be
overcome.
