Abstract

In this article, we address the issue of harassment faced by women in the
corporate environment, the result of research that reveals the prevalence of this
phenomenon in different sectors, such as communication, transport and industry.
Specifically in the field of transport, we identified an increase in cases of moral
harassment, driven by a dynamic of structural machismo that has persisted over the years.
The spike in bullying in the transport sector is intrinsically linked to the perception of
superiority that some men maintain over women. This attitude, based on gender prejudices
rooted in society, results in inappropriate behaviors that negatively impact the professional
experience of women in this sector. It is imperative to highlight that, in many cases,
aggressors occupy superior hierarchical positions, exacerbating the vulnerability of
victims, who often experience feelings of shame and guilt. In the communication and
entertainment segment, unfortunately, there are incidents of sexual harassment, causing
significant trauma and adverse implications for the professional trajectories of the women
involved. Furthermore, the consequences for the professional career of harassed women
can manifest themselves in different ways, such as limitations in professional
advancement, reduced productivity and even the making of harmful decisions, such as
abandoning their career altogether. To effectively combat this problem, it is essential to
implement assertive actions within organizations to raise awareness and combat
harassment. Raising awareness about the importance of the topic must be incorporated
into the organizational culture, through educational campaigns, workshops and regular
training programs. These actions should not only condemn harassment, but also highlight
the importance of an organizational culture that values gender equality and promotes
mutual respect. However, implementing robust internal policies, confidential reporting
procedures and ensuring that victims are supported without risk of retaliation are essential
measures. By taking a holistic approach that combines clear policies, regular training and a respectful organizational culture, companies can create safer, more inclusive work
environments where harassment is unacceptable and promptly addressed.
